Description
Winco 2-Wire Start Kit AC PSS8, PSS12, PSS15 is required for many common transfer switch configurations. Automatic standby generators require safety controls to prevent damage to the equipment. A crank limiter prevents the generator from damaging the start mechanism if the engine won’t start. Safety shutdowns such as “over speed” and “under speed” also can detect a problem and shut down the generator to prevent damage. The engine control also opens and closes the fuel solenoid to control fuel flow.
Winco 2-Wire Start Kit offers two control configurations for the air-cooled emergency standby generators.
Depending upon the application, each system has its specific advantages.
- The four-wire system places all of the critical controls in the ASCO 165 series transfer switch. The generator has no on-board controls to allow it to operate automatically.
- The two-wire start system adds an engine control board to the generator. The generator senses the closing of a contact and initiates the start sequence. All of the safety shutdowns are controlled by the generator.
The WINCO two-wire start system is required for use with many common transfer switches. It is also required if you will be using the generator with a float switch or other control system in water pumping or solar applications.
