Series Descriptions – What You Need To Know
Contractor Series – Powertron’s Contractor series is a Less Expensive and to the point the Contractor Series alternative, ideally for applications where simple is all you need. Powertron offers a complete line of UL listed products for Contractor Series models ranging from 100A to 1200A.
Standard Series – Powertron’s Standard Series Tap Box is considered the standard deluxe series tap box and is most commonly used. Standard series Tap Box’s are typically used for providing temporary power or load banking a permanent generator. Other equipment, such as breaker panels, transfer switches, and other switch gear typically will be used in conjunction with a Powertron Standard Series Tap Box.
Breaker Series – Powertron’s Breaker Series Tap Box is a step above the Standard Series Tap Box. The breaker series are more commonly used when a breaker or switching device isn’t directly connected down stream. Some facilities such as hospitals, data centers, and major water/waste water treatment centers may consider a more redundant system like this. Also, having a breaker inside the tap box may make for a safer process during operation and maintenance.
MTS Series – Powertron’s MTS Series Tap Box includes a manual transfer switch and is the ideal choice providing controllability between two power sources. Traditionally, tap box’s and manual transfer switches were separate pieces of equipment which increased installation, B.O.M., and took up a lot of space. With this series tap box it is a 2 for 1 combo. This series is ideal for smaller commercial facilities ranging from 200A to 1200A.
